With the crisp snap of a snare drum and the keening wail of bagpipes, hundreds of firefighters and police from as far away as Manchester, N.H., marched in a long file into the First Congregational Church of Yarmouth yesterday.

Dennis ‘Denny’ Wayne Hogan 
Dennis “Denny” Wayne Hogan, of St. Anthony, Idaho, died Feb. 7. He was 39. No services are planned. Mr. Hogan was born June 13, 1967, in Medford to Michael Hogan and Audella Clouse. He married Colleen Hogan.

A Memorial Mass for Alan R. Keiper, 58, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.

Long, Camille 
Peacefully on Feb. 5, 2007 at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital in his 74th year, Camille John Long passed away after a long, courageous fight with heart and lung disease.

John W. Aldridge, emeritus professor of English at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, passed away in Madison, Ga., on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007. He retired from active faculty status on Dec. 31, 1990, after a highly productive career as a teacher and scholar.
