John W. Aldridge, emeritus professor of English at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, passed away in Madison, Ga., on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007. He retired from active faculty status on Dec. 31, 1990, after a highly productive career as a teacher and scholar.

HAMILTON COUNTY Willie Ruth Bain Willie Ruth Bain, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away in a local hospital on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007.

A local woodworking company has a special piece of equipment that wont harm workers who use it. Just Johnson Millworks has a saw stop which prevents people from being cut while using the saw. The saw has a sensor that can tell when fingers or hands get too close to the blade. The blade then drops down to prevent injury.

They’re training to be cream of the crop 
Dairy workers in Lynn will learn team building and supervisory skills with a $156,825 grant to Garelick Farms LLC from the state’s Workforce Training Fund. The grant was announced at the Lynnway plant on Monday by Suzanne M. Bump , director of the state’s Department of Workforce Development.

Frederick E. Baker, 69, 02/09/2007 
FULTON, NY – Frederick E. Baker, 69, of Fulton, died Friday Feb. 9, 2007, at home after a sudden illness. Born in Volney, he lived in Hannibal until 1965 and resided in the Fulton area since then.
